With today’s economy being unstable, more people are scared of leaving their jobs for fear another one might just not be waiting for them around the corner. Companies are filing bankruptcy, corporations are closing down entire divisions, and some corporations are just closing their doors for good. When this happens, people lose jobs, and there just aren’t enough available jobs in the market today to handle the influx of the newly unemployed.
The internet has been a solace and a life saver for many seeking to supplement their income or help fill in the gaps while looking for other jobs. There are many ways to make money online, and some of the less than scrupulous people out there are taking advantage of this.
If you are faced with an offer to make money online from a website or a scheme, it’s important to check out the people and the company behind the offer and also to learn the facts before you sink any money into investments in a company, or before you waste valuable time on a project that will yield little or no return.
Are you looking for a way to make money online?
There are some pretty easy ways to do that now, with sites like Mahalo, even. You can make money writing for content sites, without even having professional training in writing. You can make money working with online stores and affiliate programs. You can even make money blogging.
These aren’t difficult thing to get into, and most of them don’t require any invested money upfront, so there’s no risk except a little bit your time to try them out.
There are some amazing pages on Mahalo to help you make money online and you can check them out at the links scattered through this post. Some additional links you can look at for making money online are included here:
Of course, don’t forget about Mahalo too, as a source for making some money online managing guide pages, how-to pages (once accepted for the how-to team), and by answering questions for people in need of whatever your personal experience and knowledge might be.
Making money online can be a very rewarding experience and for some folks; they have replaced their corporate incomes by sitting at home and playing around on the computer. Can you do it? Only you can know, but the links above are a great place to get started.
Never underestimate also the value of networking while trying to make a go of online work instead of a regular job. Keep in mind that in the beginning, you probably don’t want to quit your day job if you have one, but want to start working online and earning money online a little at a time, on the side, until you’re certain it’s the right decision for you.
After working part time online, you can then determine if you’re able to quit that day job. Of course, if you were one of the unfortunate ones to get laid off or terminated due to the economy, cut backs, etc, then there’s no time like the present to kick back and start taking control of your future.
Here is a good place to start doing that: Mahalo.com

I didn’t know Mahalo had a blog. Good work. Blog on!
Over twelve years ago, I walked away from a “guaranteed” salary to establish my own business. As economically tense as it was for a while, it was arguably the best decision I have made for my own sanity. Now, during a time when many others are feeling the pinch of recession, my business remains steady or growing. I count myself very fortunate, indeed.
Making extra money online has become more important as the economy keeps slumping. Mahalo is a good resource for that. Thanks for the links on other online money making resources.
Great blog Michy. Personally, my weak spot is networking. I know I don’t do near enough of it. I’ll tell you though, online work has made it possible to do what I want to do and still survive as a single mother!
An excellent Blog Michy.
I really enjoyed reading it and the way you worded it.

Good information on this post. Thanks for taking the time.
I’ve looked at Mahalo many times, wondering if it would be worth the effort. This post and the latest post on your personal blog have convinced me. I’ll probably sign up after NaNoWriMo is over.
Window Shopping, I am in the same boat. I have been a writer (legal, tax) for many years for a print publisher. Now I am trying to adjust to the internet. I use to look at the big-time salaries of attorneys at big-law firms with a little envy. But now, all I see in the bar ass’n newsletters are articles about law firms laying off more lawyers. I feel very fortunate.
