How to Write a Novel – You’re Doing it Right

Writing will last all through the digital age. However, writing your article, story or novel couldn’t be easier. You’ve always wanted to write your own book and can visualize the cover and the pages of an already-completed project that goes on to be published for sale. There are so many options now, so that a new writer doesn’t have to hunt down a publisher or really have to gather much in the way of funding.

For those artists that work at a job that doesn’t pay much or are still attending school, freelancing could be a method of testing the waters to see if that’s what you really want to do and if you’re really good at it. Writing for a living, that is.

Getting your novel ready for reading is the main effort, and all the while you are learning about your writing  and how it will be read by others. Writing has to be interesting or entertaining to the reader, or they won’t read it. Or the reader will start to read it and lose interest. Creating interesting writing all depends on who the writing is for, which is one of the first things the writer will decide. What genre? Who is the target audience?

Instead of pounding away at a manual typewriter, the avid computer-savy tech can just sit back and speak into a voice recorder, which will turn speech into an MP3 or WAV file. There is a free one that works really good, and can be downloaded from their website. Then to make it really easy on yourself, you can use a speech recording to text software to get your writing onto a file, or you can use software that will read back to you all that you’ve written.

If you find yourself lacking in ideas or get stumped while writing, try out a software program called WriteSparks!™ Lite  that prompts ideas for your writing. After you’ve written some things, it will be time to show your writing for others to read. You can post short articles at an internet news site or self-publish ebooks for readers to download, all independently as a freelance writer.
