Referring to source 1 describing how Alkaline Water works: “Wait, now they’re just putting random words together! Do they even know what “electrolysis” means? It’s using electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen gas! How that could possibly bring water molecules closer together is beyond me! Not to mention that the water probably doesn’t even make it past your esophagus before it’s been neutralized–your stomach is highly acidic compared to MILDLY basic water. Doesn’t make any sense…I’ve heard a lot of stupid claims before, but this….erg, arg!….I’d rather have magnets in my pillow….”

In case you still have any doubts about whether or not the marketing on this product is legitimate or a scam? Well, consider that a leading supplier of Alkalized Water, called Kangen, has actually adopted the domain, kangenscam.com, to pitch their product.

They even advertise “water classes” to educate people on adopting the alkalized water lifestyle. Despicable.

Throw in a video and picture and you got a great answer.

The studies and polls that I found indicate that tattoos are basically equal when it comes to gender distribution. This represents a large change over the past few decades, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see women passing men in incidence of tattoos in the future, based on the short amount of time it took them to catch up and the different reasons that males and females seem to have for getting tattoos.

He Answered the question.
“A man is driving a car at the speed of light, he turns on the headlights, what happens?”

According to our present understanding of physics, objects that have mass cannot be accelerated up to the actual speed of light.

Therefore, if a car were to be travelling at the speed of light, it is for sure that the theory of relativity is wrong in some respect, and since that is the only scientific basis we have for answering your question, all bets are off!

Now the car could be accelerated up close to the speed of light, without quite getting there. In that case, using the headlights works as normal.

However if you plan to drive at close to the speed of light, I advise you to do it in deep space. Doing it on a road would have unfortunate consequences because of friction, if nothing else. Also it would be illegal.

Two parts about this question fascinate me, firstly the way you prepared for the contest, by asking Mahalo questions and using Mahalo as a direct resource to help you succeed. Secondly the fact that even at your age you show no fear of competing with guys half your age as you mentioned. To me that shows that you are beaming with self-confidence and not ashamed of who you are. This does not mean you are dillusional about yourself image but you are not afraid of being in the body you are, I admire that.

For the competition results I have to be quite frank that judges will look for usual good bodies aside from personality and other skills, younger men will just have an advantage. However might I quickly add, I think you look great for your age, I hope I look half that good when I’m 60.

Your performance showed self confidence as I have mentioned and also some playfulness, it seemed as though you were comfortable and you looked like you were enjoying the event. Congratulations on your efforts and on succeeding to make a good figure in such a contest. I think using Mahalo to get tips for such a venue is a great idea, even though it cannot replace years of experience. I dont know much about cat walks and how models or most beautiful men should walk but I do know those people work very hard to get were they are, even if some say its an easy job.

I hope the fact that you didnt make the top 6 will not discourage you and that you will walk confidentaly on many more runways

On September 14th, @lesliec will post the “Answer of the Day Contest for September 15th” – The contest proceeds as it always has, with contest participants finding the best answer previously written on Mahalo. The nomination that receives the most “helpful votes” in 24hrs wins the contest prize + team tips. Same thing compared to the old version except the contest is posted and closed a little later in the day.

The most beneficial change users will notice is that the total prize money has been increased from M$10 to M$14. We’ve included a prize for the authors of the “Answer of the Day” in this new version. In previous versions we rewarded only the nominators, it was always meant as token for their participation (you had to play to win.)

In the new version we’ve adjusted the prize money for nominators and slightly make their role in the contest easier. We are removing the emphasis of the nominator to “explain” their reasoning behind choosing their nomination. This could have led to the voters voting for explanations instead of the actual nominated answer. This is no longer a concern, nominators need now only introduce their answer in a paragraph or less, no images, no video. We want the nominated answers to speak for themselves.

In the latest version Mahalo Staff will also be able to participate, in the past we have had no rule about staff. Since we started the contest participants have actively nominated staff answers for AOTD, including answers from myself, editorial director Lon, and even CEO Jason Calacanis have all had an “answer of the day” before. Which I think is fine, because sometimes even us staff can write up great answers, in fact in the latest version staff can also nominate, because we find some pretty good answers too.

Thanks our good friend Rob Brown, we now have tiki awards that will be used throughout the community for the contest. Users now have to place the nomination tiki within the comments of the answer they are nominating, this way Mahaloians know if an answer has been nominated already. I’m a big fan of the Tiki’s I think they will add much needed visual personality throughout the site.
